If you use tretinoin this is perfect!
Excellent product! I just started using 0.05% tretinoin and this cream along with the same brand cleanser, and it SAVED my skin. I do not have sensitive skin typically and can use a variety of moisturizers, but the tret made it incredibly sensitive. I was previously using Cetaphil lotion with a way too harsh cleanser (that included active ingredients – i did not do my research before starting tretinoin) and my skin was getting really bad in the purge stage. As soon as I switched over to the Vanicream moisturizer and cleanser my skin started clearing up in a matter of days. No more redness and sensitivity. It is light, my skin is hydrated all day without looking oily, even with sunscreen on top. I like that their is no fragrance and washes off easily at end of day. Does not cause breakouts.DISCLAIMER: only been using for a week but results are very good.

Barrier repair goodness
I like that this has just simple ingredients for barrier repair and gentle preservatives. I do medical microneedling and was looking for something simple to use the following day that would help my skin heal. I normally just use shea butter and hyaluronic acid and zinc sunscreen. Unfortunately, this product did not work for the day after needling. It made my skin sting so I rinsed it off. But after a few days I started using this topped with a dab of shea butter and wow my skin has never been so hydrated and smooth. I normally have a dehydration line and flakimess, but both of those issues were almost gone after a couple weeks. With it being so cheap, it’s worth a try if you have barrier/dehydration issues. I think the combo of ceramides and fatty acids and the lack of actives makes a difference. I am prone to clogged pores but this did not make them worse. Sometimes the old tried and true skincare formulations just work better.

Lightweight, Acne-Safe Moisture for Retinol Users
I have combination, acne-prone mature skin and use retinol, so finding a moisturizer that hydrates without clogging pores is a must. This one is light but genuinely effective — sinks in quickly, no greasy film, and layers well under sunscreen or makeup.I’ve used Hope in a Jar in the past and liked it, but wanted something lighter weight that still feels like a real moisturizer. This delivers. Keeps my skin comfortable and balanced without causing breakouts or irritation. Simple, no-nonsense, and reliable.

$13 amoisturizer that outperforms luxury products
I’m a skincare junkie with sensitive skin, and I’ve easily spent twenty times as much on a moisturizer. I got a tube of this for travel based on a Wirecutter review, and now that I’ve used the full tube, I can confidently say that Vanicream—at thirteen bucks (!)—is one of the best moisturizers I’ve tried. I’d call this a moderate texture—neither thick nor watery. It goes on smoothly, absorbs well, moisturizes perfectly, and never triggers my rosacea. Through the coldest stretch of winter and a very dry indoor climate from around-the-clock heating, the skin on my face looks as well-moisturized as it does in the middle of summer. Yes, the packaging makes it look like something your grandpa might use, but this is just a stellar product. I may never over-spend on a moisturizer again!

Medium weight minimal ingredient moisturizer!
As with another review, I’m looking for a replacement/dupe for Eucerin Urea Repair face moisturizer which is 5% ureaSkin concerns: dry rosacea, mid-40s, arid climate with 4 seasons, winters are cold and snowy and summers are 90°+ for most.This is a medium-weight moisturizer that I consider not greasy at all. It is not as hydrating as I need it to be for my dry skin type with rosacea. Thickness wise I say it is similar to a standard facial sunscreen.It does last overnight, in the morning I can still feel it in some areas. I will try increasing how much I apply in order to see if it helps with how much staying power it has. This may increase the hydration it provides and I will update my review to report back.I had a very mild stinging sensation but my rosacea is struggling since moving to a dry climate. Once I repair my skin barrier a bit, I fully expect this will cease.Due to this, I’m not going to get my husband to try it, he has constantly broken skin from severe eczema and stinging is something that makes him not use moisturizers. It’s a battle!For people in more humid climates this may be a more effective moisturizer, or those with less-dry skin than me. I never have flakes so this wasn’t a parameter for me.There is no tint. I’m not sure about white cast so I can’t rate it for skin tone. But I don’t feel there would be, this seems translucent unless you really go in with it.For me it is reasonably effective. It’s probably a good day moisturizer and I expect it plays well with sunscreen, though I would definitely let it absorb or dry down. Which is pretty standard for daytime skin care.There is a slight grippy feeling when applying, but this dissipates like the Eucerin Urea Repair does.This is not, for me, a replacement or dupe for Eucerin Urea Repair. It is a great value for the price!Overall for someone with skin like mine I rate it a very solid 4/5. I would likely purchase again for a lightweight moisturizer as a more affordable substitute for Beauty Of Joseon Dynasty Cream for day. Though this does not give me the “bounce” that does. Alas.Updated to add: I tried increasing the amount I apply, and that eliminated any grippy feeling when applying. I now apply both day and night and this has helped repair my barrier enough it doesn’t sting when I apply this. I still have a way to go before I can return to using my sunscreen, but I do work in a building with no windows so the few minutes I am outside, it’s okay if I go without.If I apply this to my eyes, it doesn’t sting them, which is great, my eyes are extremely sensitive and I hesitated, but it works out just fine. It isn’t thick enough to cause whiteheads to form on my lids, unlike some balm-type moisturizers (LRP!) and even unfortunately Bioderma Sensibio Eye+I have noticed the backs of my hands are improved as I wipe off excess onto the backs of my hands and into my cuticles. I was genuinely surprised by this, it’s not like I don’t wash my hands. I wasn’t expecting it to have any effect, but the stinging scaley hands are gone, now my hands just feel normal, even after wearing wool fingerless gloves all day at work.I will continue to use this product and will repurchase even after my financial situation improves.

Affordable yet amazing!!!
I have sensitive and acne prone combination skin, and have been using medik8 daily moisture as my morning moisturizer for years, but it got too expensive so I began looking for a cheaper option. I’ve been using the Vanicream Daily Moisturizer now for a couple of months and I’m even more pleased with it than any of the other expensive moisturizers I’ve tried in the past! It doesn’t break me out, has the perfect consistency, and is affordable! I love that it has great ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides, and that it hydrates my skin well without feeling greasy or too thick at all. The size is great and will definitely last me at least 6 months. Totally recommend this moisturizer!

I bought this as a substitute for CeraVe’s moisturizing cream because it contains similar ingredients but this one has even more ceramides. It tingles like CeraVe but has a lighter consistency. It’s not thick and dries fast and keeps skin hydrated for quite a while. Very good cream to mix with other active ingredients.
