Great functionality, but not convinced eye cups are silk
The customizable fit, comfort, and blackout effect of this eye mask make it by far the best sleep mask I’ve ever used. However! I paid a premium for the silk eye mask, which very clearly says that the eyecups are 100% silk. Receiving the mask, the outer band is clearly silk, but the eye cups look like a machine knit elastaine blend. The sheen is totally different, and I can SEE the weave, and if I pull on the fabric it stretches. The eye cups also had very slight pulling after their first wear which silk should not do. That may also explain why it appears you can’t buy replacement silk eye cups. I’m keeping the mask for its superb function, but I am definitely disappointed.UPDATE: I reached out to Manta customer service and they confirmed that they switched from a woven to a knitted silk, but confirmed that the eyecup are 100% silk. Updated to five stars.

I slept soundly for 5 hours!!
I have had this product now for five months. I have utilized it while flying four times now, on a 30 day cruise, and my nightly routine when I know I need to get a good nights rest and this by far is the most comfortable, luxury feeling and pampering Eye cover I could ever wish for. It’s beautiful and the color is perfect, I got the purple. It literally helps me to block everything else out and just fall asleep. I do wear lash extensions and the space for my eyelashes is perfect… I never have to worry about Ruining my semi permanent lashes. I highly recommend this mask. It’s been a game changer, especially while traveling either in the car or on flights or on a ship.

Effective “Blackout” Sleep Mask that’s Comfortable Too
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Silk “breathes” and doesn’t irritate the skin.Works well:This mask truly blocks all light, without requiring that the straps be tightened to the point of discomfort. Value for money:I’ve washed this once (as directed, before wearing, in the protective bag provided). There’s already some “pilling” on the cover of the eye cups, so the durability of the mask is questionable.

ZERO light penetration and very comfortable.
I don’t have bulging eyes, but I hate having anything pressing on them. I’ve tried and hated many sleep masks because they either let light creep in on the edges and/or I felt them pressing on my eyes. I’ve tried the cheap ones on flights where the elastic is so weak that they don’t hurt my eyes, but they do a poor job of keeping the light out around the sides. I’ve tried some of my wife’s sleep masks, but they too failed on one or more points.I LOVE this sleep mask. It is very comfortable for me to wear. I don’t feel it touching my eyes. It lets in ZERO light when situated properly, even when in a brightly lit room. It is easy to put on and take off and adjust. It MOSTLY stays put through the night, but I blame that more on me than the mask.This mask is a bit pricey, but it’s performing much better than any other’s I’ve tried.

Finally, a really comfortable sleep mask!
I have never had much success with sleep masks but this one is amazing. I love the feel of it, the tapering of the eye cushions and the cups that keep pressure off of your eyes! You can open your eyes underneath the mask without feeling any pressure and everything is still perfectly blacked out. Love!

Needs softer eye cups
The silk is soft and the cup fit is good. But the cup comfort is not. The cups are so hard.This isn’t my first mask. Manta’s quality has gone way down. I got a regular one 2 years ago, then got my wife one last year and felt like the eye cups were harder than should be.Then got this silk one to try it out and the cups are still incredibly hard. Last one I will be buying.

$75 worth of scratchy, ill- fitting falsehoods
I was so excited for this. Really it’s nothing but cons. I use the Fismool mask currently ($14-16). I’m getting a little older and decided to treat myself to the silk manta eye mask. For $75 this thing is a freaking joke:1. THE EYE CUPS ARE NOT SILK! I’ve been a fiber artist for most of my life. I make handmade bobbin lace from silk. Work with it often. This is not silk. Even if you could spin mulberry silk fine enough to knit it fine enough for it to appear to have stretch, it wouldn’t stretch this much. I did some research online, looks like shrinkflation strikes again. According to customers from a few years ago, the silk used to be silk. They changed the manufacturing and are still selling it as 30 momme silk. I’m calling BS. If it’s 30 momme silk then why is the area around my eyes where I wore the cups so red and irritated?2. DOES NOT PROVIDE 100% Blackout. This could be a me face thing, but I tried for over an hour to make this thing blackout. Nope. Closest I got was by using the band from my Fismool mask with these cups, Blackout yes, but had to wear it so tight it was uncomfortable.3. Because of how it is cut I cannot wear it above my ears if I have any chance whatsoever of getting even 90% blackout. If I wear it over my ears it slides off unless it is too tight to be comfortable.4. All in all, this thing is a scam. If you MUST try manta try the original. According to online reviews it’s the only one that really works.Note to Manta:Shame on you for false advertising. If I’m wrong about the silk, it’s easy enough to prove it. Simply post the third party laboratory test that proves this is 30 momme mulberry silk. That said, if I’m wrong and it is silk (I’d bet my teeth it isn’t) then can you kindly explain how you mange’s to make it rough enough to irritate my face? Honestly this is ridiculous.

Ich schlafe seit Jahren mit der regulären Manta Sleep Maske und war auf der Suche nach einem Upgrade, womit ich wirklich durchschlafen kann, ohne dass es mir in der Nacht am Kopf zu warm wird. Ich hatte bereits großartige Erfahrung mit Seide bei Kopfkissenbezügen gemacht und hatte die Hoffnung, dass diese Maske aus Seide noch besser performt als das Original Modell. Ehrlich gesagt fühlt sich die Maske leider nicht annähernd so samtig-weich und kühl an wie ein Seide Kopfkissenbezug. Auch die Augenpolster – selbst wenn sie wirklich aus Seide sind – fühlen sich irgendwie eher wie ein rauer Synthetikstoff an. Da fand ich tatsächlich die Synthetikpolster des original Modells angenehmer. Schade!
