Description

Unlike traditional foam rollers, the Trigger Point CARBON Foam Roller goes deeper into tissue to treat tight and sore muscles that hinder mobility. Extra firm and high-profiled nodules go deep into tissue to alleviate tightness and soreness. For maximum results, use the CARBON Roller before and after physical activity. Place the CARBON under the muscle then slowly roll back-and-forth. Deepen the massage action with a side-to-side rocking motion to span the muscle. The CARBON is extremely firm and is recommended for experienced foam roller users with very dense muscle tissue that doesn’t respond to traditional foam roller pressure. Measures 13 x 5.5 inches, and weighs 1.9 pounds; 500-pound weight limit; backed by one-year limited warranty. It definitely penetrates deeper into tissue than the Grid series rollers
It is accurate to it’s description, works great to relieve tension in the worst spots. I’ve always loved how simple these rollers are but until discovering the Trigger-Point brand I couldn’t say that rollers work as well as other devices to relieve tension. I think they “hit it on the head” when it comes to the stiffness of the carbon roller, I wouldn’t use the word “soft” to describe it, but it’s not ungodly hard either (besides the very core), the black foam covering the outside has almost a rubbery feel to it, a soft rubber though not like tire tread. It makes a great addition to your roller collection, but if it’s your first roller then I would advise going with the Trigger Point Grid 1.0 as it provides enough cushion to roll out all parts of the body, this one will definitely be too stiff for some people to use all over. But if you’ve tried other rollers and weren’t satisfied with their ability to get deep into muscle tissue in order to relieve tension, then I would absolutely recommend the Carbon series roller.

This one is worth it over the rest.
It’s hard, small, and painful. Exactly the way I like it.

    Effective, if you dare
I bought this because my aging knees sometimes hurt. A couple of people said it’s because my IT band is tight. I know jack squat about anatomy, but ok. I started rolling my IT band (outside of each thigh) using softer rollers. This can hurt, but you can get through it if you know how to relax your muscles and breathe through the pain. In time, it gets a lot easier. Then a trainer at my gym recommended trying their green trigger point roller, which is not like this one. She was like, “If you dare!” So I dared, and it was even better. Then my problem got worse, and my massage therapist poked into my IT band with her jackhammer fingers. That helped a little bit. She then told me to roll my IT band 3 times per day for the rest of my life. I figured I needed my own version of that green Trigger Point roller at home. But then I saw this wicked looking black and red thing that Trigger Point sells, and I’m like, “Yeah, that’s the one. I can handle THAT!” So it arrives pretty quickly (Amazon Prime), and I go to work on it the same day – 10 reps each thigh. Holy cow, that hurt. BUT, my knee pain disappeared. Over the next week, my thighs turned yellow from bruising and felt kind of tender, but my knees were fine. I haven’t used it in a few weeks, but my knees are still great. So, drawing upon what physical and massage therapists told me, I think this roller scrambled the crap out of the myofascia in my thighs and restored normal function to my knees. I’ll do it again in a heartbeat if my knees act up again.

    The missing link
I’m a 66 year old endurance athlete who came to rolling relatively late in life. I have a TriggerPoint Grid as well as a Roll Recovery R3 and R8 and I love them all. Rarely a day goes by now when I do not spend at least 15-20 minutes rolling from head to foot. I bought this TriggerPoint Carbon mostly because I had been using my R3 on my glutes per Roll Recovery’s recommendation with some success. The R3 is an amazing foot roller, but simply so-so when it comes to glutes. It’s not truly designed for that. The TriggerPoint Carbon is and it is simply amazing. One week in, this has become my go to full body roller. I only use the Grid now when I’m feeling especially sore. Note of caution: It’s everything they say it is. If you don’t want deep tissue massage, this probably isn’t for you but at this price point I’d probably get one anyway because most people will find ways to use it productively. Can’t say enough about the quality. Great, great purchase.

    Love the brand
I wish the bumps on it were harder, still more firm then the standard version. Overall satisfying but they need a tougher more intense one.

    Smart Choice!
I really did not like this when I first purchased it. The knobs aren’t flexible rubber at all and it really hurt to lay on it. BUT, I am so glad I stuck with it. My back soon adjusted to the pressure and I use it everyday, sometimes twice. It really helps relieve the tension that builds up from sitting at a desk all day. I’ve used the softer foam rollers since buying this deep-tissue massage roller and they seem worthless to me now. THIS one is definitely getting in there and harpin on those tight muscles. I recommend!

    Excelente calidad de materiales.
Excelente calidad de materiales. Soporta bastante peso sin deformase y hace masaje profundo.

  9. Charlotte

Exactly what I was looking for-not too intense but more then a flat roller.
